As a source of manpower for the industry, NEWRI collaborates with education units across NTU to prepare students to be at the forefront of Environmental profession. In addition to the PhD research programmes undertaken, candidates are trained in the appropriate fundamentals of Environmental Engineering and Science to better equip them for professional life.

While the candidates are enrolled with the various Colleges and Schools, their research work are supported by and will be conducted in NEWRI’s research centres. These research centres have well equipped laboratories with capacities and capabilities related to their particular focus domains – eg. membranes, biotechnology, mathematical modelling, and wastes management.

In addition to the preceding, NEWRI works with the School of Civil & Environmental Engineering in a Master programme.

There are scholarships available for applicants who wish to pursue their higher degree through research.
