Membrane Technology Facility

NEWRI provides a wide range of high-end facility e.g. porometer, mastersizer, goniometer, Surpass etc., for various applications in membrane technology.

Capillary Flow Porometer

 

Location: NEWRI-SMTC Lab, #05-05, CleanTech One (CTO) at CleanTech Park

Capability: The PMI Capillary Flow Porometer CFP-1500A delivers fully automated through-pore analysis including bubble point, pore size distribution, mean flow pore size, hydro-head, integrity, and liquid, gas, Frazier, Gurley, and Rayl permeability. This instrument allows the user to test samples under compression, tension, or elevated temperature, thereby simulating operating conditions. It is suitable for applications in a wide range of fields such as filtration, nonwovens, pharmaceutical, biotechnology, healthcare, food, fuel cell, water purification and battery. Samples often tested include filter media, membranes, paper, ceramics, battery separators and health care products.

Goniometer


Location: NEWRI-SMTC Lab, #05-05, CleanTech One (CTO) at CleanTech Park

Dataphysics Contact Angle System OCA 15EC is a video-based optical contact angle measuring system for the evaluations of properties such as contact angle, drop shape and surface energy etc. Its key specifications are as follows:

  • Max. sample dimensions (L x W x H): 220 x ∞ x 70 mm
  • Sample table dimensions: 100 x 100 mm
  • Traversing range of sample table in x-y-z direction: 110 x 150 x 42 mm
  • Max. sample weight: 3.0 kg; 15.0 kg clamped
  • Measuring range for contact angles: 0…180°; ± 0.1° measuring precision of the video system

Anton Paar Surpass

 

Location: NEWRI-SMTC Lab, #05-05, CleanTech One (CTO) at CleanTech Park

Capability: The Anton Paar Surpass is a high-end electrokinetic analyzer that enables determination of the zeta potential on macroscopic solid surfaces. It gives insight into the charge and adsorption characteristics of solid surfaces. The electrokinetic analyzer has a wide range of applications, ranging from plastics, synthetic and natural fibers, textiles, cosmetics and surfactants, mineral powders, filter media and investigations into biomaterials and semiconductor substrates.
